A TYPOGRAPHIC INSTALLATION
YOLO, means “you only live once".We think this sentence is very positive and conveys the values of cherishing time and enjoying life to people.Our device is 0.8m high, 0.8m wide and 0.005m thick.It stands through the interpenetration of acrylic plates.It is a 3D model.We have created a very modern geometric font.We use colored geometric acrylic plates to create a strong sense of three-dimensional space and create a space that makes people feel color and light aesthetics.Our equipment can achieve the desired effect in natural or dark light.When people walk past the installation, the light will light up.

In order to make the acrylic plate can stand on the ground, we have made gaps in almost every board, so that each board can be embedded in each other, so as to achieve the purpose of standing on the ground.

Decoration
We bought eight small acrylic board to cut decorations.
We used transparent acrylic sticks and acrylic glue to attach the decorations to the large letters.
Typography
We use big acrylic boards of 90 by 90 centimeters as main body of typography.
Our Plan
We plan to install the installation like this.
When someone passed in front of the installation, the light will light up.

This installation has a very good light and shadow effect under the sunlight and does not even require lights.
Problems
It’s a tough project, we had a lot of problems, first, our light strip burnt
Second, it was easy to catch fire when acrylic was cut, and we burned an acrylic board for the first cut
Third, there is a problem with the size of the groove , interclude instruction can not be formed
It is easy to be hurt by acrylic
When we move it outside to take photos, we accidentally kicked a letter, and the acrylic board cracked.
Solution
We take turns looking after the laser cutter in workshop to make sure there was no fire.
Using rasp to adjust the size and shape of the groove.
And we bought another new acrylic board to cut new one.
After trying, we think the light strip was not very suitable for the installation, and we change to a brighter light.
